As a Taiwanese multidisciplinary artist residing in Philadelphia, my artistic endeavors revolve around the dynamic interplay of various mediums to convey narratives. Influenced by literature, theater, and filmmaking, I am drawn to the exploration of linguistic ambiguity and the collaborative process as a mode of creative expression. Drawing upon my background in these disciplines, I engage in experimentation with new artistic mediums to realize my vision.
Central to my artistic practice is the amplification of women's voices, particularly those of my generation, reflecting their nuances, aspirations, and even setbacks through hybrid forms such as illustration, animation, and essay film. Having grown up in Taiwan, a nation with a complex historical backdrop, I possess a profound appreciation for diverse cultures and artistic expressions, viewing creativity as a vehicle for asserting one's autonomy and individuality.
In recent years, my artistic exploration has delved into Taiwanese identity, encompassing pivotal historical events like the Japanese Occupation, KMT's Martial Law, and economic transformation. As a member of the Taiwanese diaspora, I am also keen on unraveling the history of Taiwanese migration and its impact on identity formation and redefinition.
